Honda Malaysia has announced the availability of a limited edition Honda Civic Concept Mugen, a 90 unit run of the Honda Civic 2.0S equipped with a MUGEN bodykit which consists of a front and rear lip, side skirts and a rear wing, and MUGEN GP 17 inch wheels which comes in either gunmetal or bronze

Done up in a nice Neutron Blue color, the Honda Civic Concept Mugen was developed to commemorate Honda’s 4 consecutive years of outstanding performance in the MME Class A race, as well as a recently achieved milestone of 100,000 registered cars on the road. Of course, the Honda Civic 2.0S also won the Autocar Asean Overall Car of the Year 2006 and the Midsize sedan/hatch 2006 category.

The Honda Civic Concept Mugen will be available in Honda dealers from 22nd November 2006 onwards, and will retail at RM141,800.00 inclusive of road tax and insurance

Honda’s flagship offering receives a sporty facelift and new features and improvements. The newly-designed front and rear bumper give the Odyssey a sleek and strong profile. Safety Performance

Honda's original G-CON (G-force Control) technology is incorporated to create a body with a crash safety design that is among the best in the world. It can withstand a 55 km/h full-frontal collision; a 64 km/h front offset collision, a 55 km/h side collision, and a 50 km/h rear collision. Furthermore, in addition to a high level of self-protection, the vehicle's crash compatibility body reduces damage inflicted toward other vehicles. The ABS (anti-lock braking system), EBD (Electronic Brake-force Distribution) and BA (Brake Assist) provide active protection when braking regardless of road and weather conditions.

The Odyssey is equipped with dual SRS airbags and side airbags in the front and side curtain airbag system for the 1st to 3rd row seats that help reduce head injuries in the event of a side collision. Front-row seats are fitted with 3-point, load limiter-equipped, and pretensioner ELR seatbelts. The driver's side belt is equipped with a lap pretensioner on the outer end of the lap belt, in addition to the shoulder belt pretensioner, for improved occupant retention in both the pelvic and thoracic regions.

Driving Performance

The 2.4-litre DOHC i-VTEC engine combines Honda's Variable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control (VTEC) with Variable Timing Control (VTC), which optimizes intake valve timing in response to engine load. It delivers a maximum of 160ps at 5500 rpm and 22.2 kg-m maximum at 4500 rpm. Five-speed Sport Shift automatic transmission delivers smooth high-speed cruising while contributing to improved fuel economy. Sport Shift automatic system also allows flexibility in switching between automatic and manual shift modes.

The Odyssey’s independent double-wishbone with coil spring suspension ensures straight-line stability and outstanding ride comfort. A more compact powertrain and Variable-steering Gear Ratio (VGR) give the new Odyssey a class-leading minimum turning radius of just 5.4m.

The enhancements were made to both the VTEC and i-DSI versions which now feature a sportier image with new front and rear bumper designs and new LED (light emitting diode) tail-lights. The VTEC option also boasts of new body colour headlights, new design gear knob, self-illuminating meter and side-turn light door mirror.

The snazzy Honda Jazz is by far the only subcompact car in Malaysia that offers unrivalled interior spacious versatility with its Ultraseat capability. The Honda Jazz can be transformed into three different modes, the Utility Mode, the Long Mode and the Tall Mode that allow maximum use of space in fitting in bulky, long, or tall items.

With just a flip of the lever of one or both the rear seats, the Utility Mode unfolds with the rear seats folding effortlessly into the footwell. This creates a totally flat floor space with a length of 1.72 meters to accommodate bulky items such as a bicycle. In this mode, the space can be further transformed into the Long Mode for long items up to 2.4 meters such as a surf board by simply fully reclining the front passenger seat onto the folded rear seat.

And to bring items that have to remain upright such as a potted plant, just get the Ultra Seat into the Tall Mode. By merely folding the entire rear seat upwards, a space that can fit items up to 1.28 metres in height is readily available.

Both the engine versions of 110 horsepower 1.5-litre VTEC engine and 88 horsepower 1.5-litre i-DSI engine are immensely popular as the Honda Jazz delivers innovative style, spaciousness, comfort, practicality and fuel efficiency in a single vehicle.

In Honda’s VTEC (which stands for Variable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control) engine, the electronic and mechanical system allows the engine to effectively move into different rpm (rotations per minute) depending on the speed the engine is running. This generates intensive and highly-efficient combustion, which results in high power output at low fuel consumption with ultra-low emissions regardless of speed.

In the i-DSI (which stands for Intelligent Dual Sequential Ignition) version, the amazing fuel economy of the Honda Jazz is attributable to the dual spark plugs per cylinder which ignite in succession for waste-free combustion - a marked difference from ordinary engines that use just one spark plug per cylinder. The higher compression ratio of high torque in a low-to-mid speed range produces superb efficiency in all rev and load ranges, and fuel economy at all speeds.

Honda Announces Development of HF118 Turbofan Aircraft Engine

Honda used its proprietary computational fluid dynamics software to optimize airflow within the compact engine, maximizing performance. The engine's simple, high-performance combustion chamber keeps emission levels low enough to meet the requirements of anticipated standards for compact jets.

On the basis of electronic control technology originally developed for automotive applications, Honda has created the first ultra-compact Full Authority Digital Electronic Control (FADEC) system for this class of engine, which provides superior engine operation and reliability without variable mechanisms.

Development of this engine began in 1999, and it has been submitted to comprehensive testing, including required tests such as the 150-hour endurance test . The engine has now logged more than 110 hours of flight-testing on other manufacturers' aircraft, confirming its reliability.

The new Honda City VTEC has a 1.5-litre 16-valve 4-cylinder VTEC (Variable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control System) power plant that yields up to 110 PS at 5,800 rpm and 14.6 kg-m at 4,800 rpm. Given its Variable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control System that works in synch with various driving conditions, the VTEC engine achieves a clean combustion, maximum horse power and torque output while saving fuel at the same time.

Aside from the VTEC variant, the new Honda City also comes with a 1.5-litre i-DSI ( Intelligent Dual and Sequential Ignition) engine. The City i-DSI variant was first introduced to the Malaysian market in April 2003 and went on to become HMSB's best-selling model of that year.
